Prof. Dr. Sunil Kar stands as a stalwart in the field of dentistry, wearing the hats of Director at 3S Dental Care Pvt. Ltd. and Associate Director at the Sunayan Eye Care Foundation. Graduating with a BDS from Vinayaka Mission University and earning an MDS from Shree Balajee Dental College, Dr. Kar boasts prestigious fellowships from ICOI and ISOI. His decorated career includes notable awards such as Best Paper at Implacon Indore (2018) and the Asia Pacific Excellence Award for Research in Implant.
Currently, a Research Scholar at S’o’A University and having previously served as a Professor at Hi-Tech Dental College, Dr. Kar is deeply intertwined with academia. Beyond his academic endeavors, he shines as a motivational speaker, authoring a book on dental implants biomechanics and presenting papers internationally. Dr. Kar’s commitment to social causes materializes through initiatives like free eye care in remote villages and dental camps for the underprivileged.
In the tumultuous times of COVID-19, Dr. Kar emerged as a frontline volunteer, tirelessly working to raise awareness about vaccination, distributing essential medical supplies, and offering dental care to those in need. His vision transcends traditional dental practice, encompassing research, entrepreneurship, and community upliftment. Driven by the dream of advancing dental treatment in Odisha with cutting-edge technologies, he seeks to leave an indelible mark on society.
Furthermore, Dr. Kar’s involvement with NGOs, including Women in Society Help and Friends of Tribal Society, showcases his commitment to broader societal welfare. Actively participating in Lions Club of Bhubaneswar and JCI, he contributes to community development initiatives.
As a founder member of the Indian Prosthodontics Society and editor of IPS Odisha Branch, Dr. Kar not only imparts dental training but also focuses on dental manufacturing and entrepreneurship. His commitment to creating employment opportunities, providing free training to over 50 dental surgeons, and conducting dental workshops reflects his holistic approach to dental care and community service. Dr. Sunil Kar’s journey from Bargarh to establishing technologically advanced dentistry in Bhubaneswar embodies resilience, compassion, and a tireless dedication to service.
